One year after the first Omnibus package was introduced, it’s time to take stock.

Regulatory simplification is high on the European Commission’s political agenda—with a clear goal to cut red tape and boost competitiveness across the EU. Central to this effort are the so-called Omnibus proposals—bundled legislative changes designed to streamline existing rules across multiple policy areas. One year after the first Omnibus package was introduced, it’s time to take stock. With several Omnibus proposals now on the table and some already adopted—including the landmark Sustainability Omnibus Act—the time is ripe to assess their real-world impact.

Join us for an insightful online event as we explore:
  • What has been achieved so far?
Have the simplification proposals delivered on their promise to reduce administrative burdens by 25% for all businesses and 35% for SMEs?
  • What do the changes mean for companies?
From the revised Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) to the withdrawal of the AI Liability Directive, we’ll examine whether these reforms are making compliance easier and boosting competitiveness.
  • What’s next on the EU’s simplification agenda?
With further proposals expected in areas like environmental and digital regulation, we’ll look ahead to what companies should prepare for in 2026 and beyond.

In the second part you can also find out how the VDMA European Office represents your interests in Brussels and how VDMA brings the perspective of the machinery industry into the EU decision-making process and which services and activities of the Brussels-based VDMA experts in Brussels might be of interest to you.

Be there and we look forward to your registration!
