Dear OPC UA Community,

We are pleased to host the Plenary Meeting of the OPC UA working groups in person at our premises in Frankfurt. This format provides an excellent opportunity for networking and direct professional exchange.

The plenary meeting serves as a central forum for the OPC UA Companion Specification working groups within the VDMA and offers a comprehensive overview of current activities across the OPC UA ecosystem and great networking possibilities. The event will highlight key updates from the OPC Foundation, the FLC group and the VDMA, focusing on the base standard, OPC UA for Machinery.

A central element of the meeting is an interactive workshop, during which participants can openly discuss typical challenges in the OPC UA environment, including information modelling, PLC/SDK integration, tooling and overlapping Industry 4.0 technologies.

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to practical best practices and workflows for integrating OPC UA Companion Specifications into PLCs, presented by multiple PLC manufacturers, offering valuable insights into real-world implementation and toolchains.

You will find the current agenda further below.

The event is ideal for anyone seeking concise updates, hands-on discussions, and practical guidance on OPC UA implementation.
