The Classification Working Group is a network of experts from various VDMA member companies. This is where an intensive exchange of information and experience on regulations, guidelines and standards takes place. Our work makes a significant contribution to continually improving the classification of ships and continuously optimizing the associated processes and costs. We are in continuous contact with the classification societies at various levels, providing information, discussing and striving for clear, practicable, consensual and industry-oriented solutions. In addition, VDMA member companies have exclusive access to the DORIS database, a powerful tool for researching the technical regulations of the leading classification societies. We promote the exchange of knowledge and experience both in face-to-face events and in web meetings.

The working group usually meets twice a year (spring and fall) in Frankfurt or at a member company.
